To determine the gender of eaglets, you can use the size, measurements of beak depth and hallux length. We think that scientists are able to determine a young bird's gender by using the same formula they use to determine the sex of the adult birds.
sex = (bill depth X 0.392) + (hallux length X 0.340) - 27.694
If the answer is positive, the eagle is female. If the answer is negative, the eagle is male. Female eaglets and male eaglets look very similar just like adult male and females.
