According to Wayne Perrynman's chart about gray whale calf production and length of feeding
seasons, we never had a year with a long feeding season and a low number of calfs. We also
didn't see a short feeding season followed by a high number of calves. We hypothesized that
the length of the feeding season has nothing to do with the number of calves. The statistics of
the number of calves and the length of feeding season keeps on changing every year.
