Challenge Question #3

Our fourth grade students noticed that the photoperiod of Mystery Class #2 is almost a mirror image our photoperiod in Trumansburg, New York.

One student wrote:

Mystery Class #2 is going through weather changes from summer to fall. The amount of daylight that we have is getting longer. Mystery Class #2 is the opposite from our photoperiod. This means that they must be heading towards fall because we are heading towards spring. Fall and spring are opposite seasons.

Another Student wrote:

Mystery Class #2 must be having fall soon. The days there are getting shorter and we get shorter days in winter and fall. Our days are getting longer and its almost spring here.
