All the way from Ireland-the class at Ardaghy School
The gray whales leave the Arctic to find a warm place to have their babies because the babies are born with hardly any blubber to keep them warm. The lagoons are warm and safe with fewer killer whales. The babies need to stay long enough to gain blubber and fat from their mothers' milk and then they are ready for the journey back to the Arctic for proper food.
