Meet Class of 2010: Chick 1002
Hatched May 2, #1002 is six days old in this photo. At this age, the chick was learning to follow along by the crane puppet (and costumed handler) outdoors. On May 11 chick #1002 first met the ultralight airplane trike. This chick is from an egg rescued from the abandoned nest of wild parents #505 and 415, who laid the egg in April at Necedah NWR in Wisconsin. Do you suppose he'll ever know them?
