Meet Class of 2010: Chick 1005
Chick #1005 hatched May 8 and is just 4 days old here. This baby needs a few more days getting used to walking in and out of the door between its indoor pen and the outdoor run on the other side of the wall. Then it can follow the puppet and costumed handler to do outdoor walking. After that it will be introduced to the ultralight trike. Chick #1005 hatched from an egg laid by captive cranes at Patuxent WRC.
