Meet
Class of 2010: Chick 1006
The
egg was pipping and the hatch was expected May 12. But on May
11, chick #1006 surprised everyone and arrived at lunch time.
You can't see her, but this is Barb Clauss. She is gently moving
the chick, still wet from hatching,
to the
incubator to get warm and dry. Why do you think she wears
this costume that covers her up?
(Hear
answer
by Dan, who also tends the chicks at Paatuxent WRC with Barb.)
