How do you know this is a juvenile Whooping crane, but not #1-10 or #1-12?

The presence of a few rusty-color feathers indicates a juvenile. The absence of leg bands shows that the crane is not from the Eastern Migratory Population because all those cranes are banded. This is a wild juvenile photographed at Aransas NWR in February.
