Bird's Eye View
This Whooping crane is standing on its nest as a helicopter approaches. (The picture was taken from the helicopter.) If you look closely you can see two beige eggs in the nest. Whooping cranes do not cover their eggs with down or vegetation since either the male or the female is always incubating.
