Not Migrating Yet!
The Class of 2011 likes the Alabama winter home just fine, thank you very much. The nine youngsters show no signs of leaving—yet. Pilot Brooke Pennypacker camps nearby and checks on them: "Each morning and afternoon. . . I walk down the Refuge’s Atkeson Trail to a vantage point where I can usually see the chicks and begin my all too familiar count to nine." One of these days, Brooke won't be counting nine! When will that be?
