The six young Whooping cranes that migrated to Florida with aircraft leaders were banded February 9 and released on Feb. 14 to freedom on Florida's St. Marks NWR.

From now until they migrate northward, pilot Brooke will check daily to make sure they are doing okay as they learn to be wild and free.

We'll soon follow their first journey north. Until then, see photos and news of the newly banded cranes on their bio pages, and take a tour of their winter home!
