Today's Challenge Questions
Using the data collected by the Monarch Migration Project over the past 5 years, what predictions do you make about the migration this year? Here are some questions for you to consider:
  • Compare Week 1 of this year with data from all the previous years. Do you think this year's migration promises to be a record-breaker?
  • Now compare Week 2 of this year with the other weeks' data. In how many instances have as many monarchs been seen in past years?
  • To date, in which year was the monarch migration through Cape May the strongest?
  • In which year were the fewest monarchs seen?
  • Does the migration appear to peak during any particular week each year?
