Annual Microclimate Challenge while selecting the perfect site to carry out your plant experiments. Organize your

- Tulip Garden Update: October 12, 2001
The first gardens have been planted and students are eagerly expecting spring's arrival. Classrooms
share their enthusiasm. "Oh, I was born too soon!" exclaimed one senior citizen volunteer as she participated
in reporting on the Journey North Web site. Be sure to protect your healthy bulbs from hungry enemies!
- Tulip Garden Update: November 9, 2001
Lots of shovel action across the continent as we report 121 new gardens planted. Read about classes
taking the Microclimate Challenge. Kids are asking, "What if?" and setting up their own planting experiments.
Find out about BIG DADDY and look for a geographic pattern to the planting sequence unfolding on your data charts!
- Tulip Garden Update: December 7, 2001
Once again classes have been busy planting Red Emperors and we now have 264 gardens ready for this
year's study! A special garden is planted in the Rockaway Peninsula that will bring hope with its springtime blossoms.
What is all this warm fall weather doing to our tulips? Time to put on your thinking caps and predict when tulips
will emerge in our Original 13 garden sites! Good luck!
