Deadline for Symbolic Migration: October 11, 2002

Included in this reminder:

Postmark Deadline is October 11
We reserve the right to return butterflies who do not migrate on time! Don't be late. We want your butterflies to safely escape the long, cold winter!

Confused About Sending Your Butterflies?
  • Fall: Use UPS to send your Butterflies to Journey North.
  • Spring: Use U.S/Canadian postage on the return envelope.

Why Not UPS in Spring?
Because of rate fluctuations, UPS cannot put a pre-paid return envelope for next spring in your package this fall. Therefore, you must put POSTAGE STAMPS on the return envelope. We will send your envelope back next spring in the MAIL, not by UPS.

  • Please READ CAREFULLY the instructions on the Checklist

Help Conserve the Monarch Sanctuaries
We encourage you to help conserve the monarchs' fragile habitat in Mexico. And this year we're looking for 100% participation!

The forest sanctuaries where the monarchs will spend the winter are not adequately protected. Logging threatens to destroy the unique conditions that the monarchs need to survive. Because the people who live in the sanctuary region are very poor, and also depend on the forest for survival, a way for the people and the monarchs to coexist must be found. The Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary Foundation is a non-profit organization working to resolve these difficult issues.

Please enclose a donation, no matter how small, when you send your symbolic monarchs. This will serve as a true gesture of appreciation to the Mexican people for caring for the butterflies. When they return next spring, you'll be glad to know that you helped! Make Check Payable to: The Monarch Butterfly Sanctuary Foundation

Thank you!
