Garden Update: December 3, 2004 Tulip gardens are covering the map with 245 planted so far! Have you been learning the capitals? Keep practicing and then try your skills in the new Capital City Garden Quiz. When do you predict spring will arrive at our German garden? Mark the shortest day of the year with an experiment that will really make you think. Also, teachers share tips and a planting poem, “Earth, Help Us to Remember.” |

Garden Update: November 5, 2004 Gardeners are digging in as we watch the map fill up with gardens planted. Volunteers needed for more capital sites in our Gardens in Every Capital City project! Study and predict when spring will reach each capital in 2005. Investigate the amazing tulip bulb using another Just-for-kids booklet. And don’t forget to report your garden planted before December 3. |

Garden Update: October 8, 2004 Planting season has begun with 23 gardens planted! Learn the capitals in North America as you predict the arrival of spring in each place. We need your help finding volunteer gardeners. Another Just-for-Kids booklet will take you on a Microclimate hunt of your own schoolyard. Lots of teacher tips are waiting for you, too. |

Garden Update: Sept. 10, 2004 NEW downloadable just-for-kids booklet introduces the International Tulip Garden Project. Learn how to print and make this non-fiction reading tool. Teachers new to the tulip project can visit the project overview. From the time you plant your Journey North garden until the tulips emerge in the spring many things happen under the ground. What kinds of things would you learn if you could “see” what the temperature is underground? Our first fall report is full of challenges, tips and lots of scientific inquiry for all. |
