Keep your feeder up for the stragglers!
Hummingbirds will continue to migrate long after peak migration has passed, so keep your feeder up. Your feeder will not cause hummingbirds to delay their migration. Their cue to migrate is based on day length (photoperiod), not the presence of food. On cold nights, take your feeder inside. When you put it out in the morning the liquid will warm and safe for hummingbirds to drink. Cold nectar can be dangerous to hummingbirds because it can cause hypothermia.
