Draining the Feeders!

Teresa from Macks Creek, Missouri, is a friend to the hummers!

"I have ten 32-ounce feeders that I fill between 1/2 to 3/4 full, using clear sugar water. They empty these daily. At least 5 days a week, I am preparing 32 cups of water/8 cups sugar and I can hardly keep up. I have more hummingbird nectar in my fridge than food. They're hard to count due to zoom-byes, but I have seen 6 hummers sitting at 4 feeders socializing at one time. They are coming in each day, they eat all day long, starting at sunrise. I have to fill feeders up in the morning and evening both. They have done this consistantly all summer long. I notice a lot more females or yearlings instead of males. I'll sure miss them."
