Male Anna's and Others
Several species of hummingbirds are fueling to travel. A few observers reported Black-chinned Hummingbirds, which are exceptionally widespread and may winter along the Gulf Coast. A late (Sept. 28) sighting of an immature Broad-tailed Hummingbird on a feeder and flowers prompted observer Angela to say: "Our overnight temps in Denver, CO dropped down to 37 degrees. So glad I kept my feeders up!" All need food!

"At least two Anna's hummingbirds are still visiting my feeders and flowers, in spite of a couple of frosty nights."
