Update

Hummingbirds feed at hundreds of flowers every day to gather enough nectar to meet their energy needs. Even though it's October and people along the migration trail are reporting near freezing temperatures, some natural food sources are still available.

"I spotted 2-3 immature ruby-throated hummers this past week. This evening there were two chasing each other in my yard and feeding on blooms: pineapple sage, Mexican sunflower, Shrimp Plant, Cuphea 'David Verity' and 'Vermillionaire' and Scarlet Rooster Sage."
