"Rufous Hummingbirds stormed into Idaho with conviction last week, arriving almost simultaneously in many locations," wrote an amazed Mike Patterson. Just look at the map! Why do you think the rufous migration moves in the direction it does?

Meanwhile, ruby-throated hummers continued their northward march, with one appearing at 60 N in Nova Scotia!
