The
Last of the Rubythroats Cross the Gulf
Our
friends from Guayabo De Bagaes, Costa Rica reported the last rubythroat
seen on their farm on March 28. Soon after, observers reported
from Monaville, Texas that a male rubythroat came to their feeder
and "drank like he hadn't had a meal in a long time."
Isn't
it exciting to think that after such a long and dangerous migration
across the Gulf of Mexico there are citizens and schoolyards ready
with their nectar feeders. - (I wonder if maybe this hummer was
the one last sighted by our friends in Guayabo De Bagaes??)
