When Linda Zielinski took over her family place in Oregon's Willamette Valley in 2002, she discovered something interesting in the old shed.

Her father had kept track of the dates of his first rufous hummingbird sightings since 1971 on a scrap of wood on the wall!

Since he passed away in 2002 she has continued the tradition of recording the dates of first and last rufous sightings.
