Which Species? Donna Stickrod of Chesapeake, Virginia solves the mystery: "My hummingbird has been identified as a female rufous. She has been here all winter and is still going strong despite recent snow and temperatures in the teens. She is very vocal and tries to chase larger birds away from the wax myrtle with her vocal sounds." |
