Hardy Rufous
Along with a reputation as the feistiest hummingbird in North America, the rufous is also quite tolerant of the cold. This characteristic is witnessed by many who have been observing rufous throughout the winter months.

"We've had wintering rufous hummers for the last few years! Love being able to look out my kitchen windows and see them at the feeders! This is a photo during some freezing weather!" From Susan in San Antonio, Texas 02/19/14
