January 24th was a big banding day in Dickenson, Texas. All together, 9 hummingbirds were banded. One female rufous had been banded previously in the same yard in mid-December, and another female rufous had been banded 02/03/13 in Mobile, Alabama. In total, there were 4-male rubythroats, 4-female rufous, and one Allen's banded that day. The important work of bird banders allows us to document and learn more about hummingbird behavior.
