Black-chinned
This small hummingbird has a brilliant strip of irridescent purple feathers at the base of his black chin that is only visible under certain lighting conditions. Black-chins are adaptable birds. They can be found in urban areas and remote areas from deserts to mountain forests in western states.

"I'm pretty sure I saw a black-chinned hummingbird. He showed up to our feeder just long enough to drink for a few seconds, and then disappeared."
