Rufous Arrives
A welcome sight—the first Rufous at your feeder! Females and juvenile males both show white tips on their tails and green backs.
"I was really surprised to see a female Rufous at my window feeder today. At first I thought it was an Anna's hen, that winters here; but she had a lot of Rufous color that I haven't seen since September. Usually the males arrive first. We have had a pretty early spring, my daffodils are blooming. Lots of early gnats to feed on."
