Dear Fellow Journey North Teachers and Classes,

Our class received our Symbolic Butterflies on May 10, 2002.
They were cared for us by Manuel Padilla Zunich. These
butterflies were then tagged by a tourist at the El Rosario
Monarch Sanctuary in Michoacan, Mexico. The students were
fascinated with the many beautiful butterflies. We shared with
each other where they were from and then each student put a
sticker on our Journey North Map to indicate the survival of
    these butterflies.

Here are the schools where the butterflies came from:

Price Laboratory School, Cedar Falls, IA (2)
Espiritu Santu Catholic School, Safety Harbor, FL (2)
Chatfield School Ray Classroom, Lapeer, MI
    Probstfield Elementary School, Moorhead, MN
    Castleton Elementary School, Castleton, VT
    Dillsburg Elementary School, Dillsburg, PA
Smokey Mountain Elementary School, Whittier, NC
    Cushing Elementary School, Delafield, WI
University Park Elementary School, Dallas, TX
    St.Peter?s Catholic School, Beaufort, SC
    York Middle School, York, NE
Brandon Gate Public School, Mississauga, Ontario Canada

This is a wonderful project. Students learn so much about the
migration, from mapping the states and the schools, and about
Mexico. This project truly enriches the lives of the Hispanic
family we have in our school.

    Sincerely,
Mrs. Judy Huter and the 4th Grade Class
