Dear Friends,
We are a sixth grade team, Team Z, at Plymouth Middle School, a middle
school located in Plymouth, MN, 93.5 degrees West latitude, 45 degrees N
longitude. Last fall we sent symbolic monarchs to Journey North, and
they traveled to Mexico. They spent the winter in Mexico with
butterflies from many other states and provinces. Some of the monarchs
were tagged with special orange tags that spent the winter at a school
in Angangueo, Michoacan, Mexico. Others spent the winter in the
children's museum in Mexico City. There also were monarchs that were
tagged with special green tags. These monarchs were tagged in Saltillo,
Coahuilla, Mexico.
This spring we received monarch butterflies in the northerly symbolic
migration from many areas of the United States, Canada, and Mexico.
