Today's Report Includes:

Clueless No More!
This message just in from your secret mystery friends:
"How are you doing with your quest to uncover our secret locations? Are you getting closer to finding us? We wish we could tell you more, but our lips are sealed! For now, we've sent our first set of clues, and more will be on their way for the next four weeks to come--good luck."

Special thanks to the 10 top secret Mystery Sites around the world who have worked very hard preparing the interdisciplinary clues below.

And here at Journey North, we've sorted through all the clues carefully, getting them ready to come your way. Watch the Journey North staff reviewing the clues:

Over the next four weeks, we'll provide more clues every week. Now that you've estimated approximate Longitude with GMT, all you need to know is the Latitude of each place and you're there!

Who wanted to be a Millionaire?
Did you find the GMT calculations last week challenging? Imagine what it must have been like for the man who solved the "Longitude Problem" for the very first time! Read the fascinating TRUE story of how one man, an English clockmaker, solved this million dollar mystery back in the 1700's:

Who wanted to be a Millionaire? The Longitude Contest

The Vernal Equinox is Sunday--Will Your Eggs be "Standing" or Breakfast?
Don't forget to conduct your egg balancing tests this Sunday, the Vernal Equinox--the day that some believe has a special kind of force that will make a raw egg balance on its own end!

The Vernal Equinox is Sunday March 20
What do you predict will happen to your eggs on the Equinox?

Have they balanced in the previous few weeks?

How are things "standing" (or not) at this point?

Keep testing for the next two weeks.
We'll ask you to send your results very soon, but in the meantime be thinking about this difference of opinion between two teachers...

Which Teacher is Right?
People always wonder about this "eggsistential" experiment--just look at this question we received previously from a teacher. How would you answer her question--which teacher is right?:

Myth or "Mythstaken"?

"Hi Journey North staff, Perhaps you can help. I have a colleague at school who firmly believes that an egg can only be balanced on its end at the Equinox. She was out today at 2:17 EST and managed to balance an egg on its end. I do not believe she tries to do this at any other time of the year. I have suggested that she needs to try this just as hard at other times of the year to establish that it is not just at the Equinox that the balancing act can be achieved. She *believes* that it can only happen at the exact Equinox. I know of no reason why this should be so. I realize this is out of your ordinary field of expertise, but has anyone there heard of this myth, or is it me that is 'mythstaken'?"

Isn't this "eggciting"?
