Mystery Class #1

"We are located in a country that is said to have forty-six states plus four other states that are officially called commonwealths; and one of the tallest living trees. We are also located in another nation, a sovereign Nation."

Mystery Class #2

"Our country has ocean water on one side, and sea water on another side. It is not an island, instead it's an isthmus. We abolished our army."

Mystery Class #3

"Our location is extremely isolated. We are above 9,000 feet in elevation. There are mountains in this area, but we can't see them; instead, the terrain is flat and white. In contrast, there is so much color in the winter night sky from our hemisphere's counterpart to aurora borealis."(Click image to enlarge.)

Mystery Class #4
"A remarkable feature of this country's wildlife is its many species of birds that do not fly. Sadly, several species are endangered or extinct. Some scientists believe this lack of flight relates to our country's geographical isolation and the original absence of certain predators."
Mystery Class #5

"Our country is located on two different places, one a peninsula, the other an island. Some wildlife species found in our country include elephants, rhinos, sun bears, tapirs, orangutans, crocodiles and hornbills."

Mystery Class #6
"Our country has four neighboring countries, three official languages, one sea coast, and three stripes on our flag."
Mystery Class #7
"We are located on part of a nunatak, almost 200 km from the coastline. We see petrels and skuas from time to time. Sorry we can't be more specific about the country we're located in -- there are no countries here (or states, or cities)!"

Mystery Class #8
"Ursus maritimus lives in our circle of the world."
Mystery Class #9

"This flower, perhaps the largest on Earth, is found in our country -- but plug your nose! And check out this 10 foot, 300 pound dragon -- we don't slay them, we're trying to save them." (Click images to enlarge.)

Mystery Class #10
"In this country, we address doctors and teachers with the same title to show respect. The custom of bending forward toward another person is also an important part of everyday life here -- sometimes we even do it when speaking on the phone."
