Wildlife
In Lesotho, there are many species of wildlife unique to our higher altitude habitat. For instance, in the Bokong Nature Reserve, there are excellent opportunities to view the rare and endangered Bearded vulture (which is also known as the Lammergeier or Bonecrusher), and a number of other bird species endemic to the afro-alpine zone. Good populations of vaal rhebuck still occur on the plateau grass and heartlands, and the whole area abounds with colonies of the endemic ice rat.
