Trading Sunlight for Auroras
In summer, we experience 24 hours of sunlight a day whereas in winter (where 21 June is the shortest day), we are lucky to get 2 hours of sun a day. This means that the sun barely rises above the horizon, sits there for a peek and then returns to its resting place. The lack of sun in the winter does get you down – but it does present ample opportunities to sight auroras. |
