Weather and Language
The weather here is great. It does not get below 50 degrees or much above 80 degrees where we live. It rains for about half the year, but only in the afternoons or evenings for a few hours. Although our country is beautiful, few outsiders visit. This is good and bad. Most people are poor farmers but some of the cities are growing rapidly.
The language here is Malagasy. One of the things about the language is that it uses words that are some of the longest in the world, especially words for places or for people's last names. For example, one student here has a last name that is 17 letters. But that's nothing. One of our former Kings has the longest name ever. |
