How do they know which way to go?
One of the great mysteries surrounding monarch migration is how the butterflies navigate to their winter home in Mexico. Last week, scientists announced a suprising discovery: the monarchs' antennae are involved in orientation. How did the scientists make their discovery? They carefully dipped the monarchs' antennae in paint! Some butterflies' antennae were dipped in black paint and others in clear paint.
  • How do you suppose dipping the antennae in paint helped scientists discover that monarchs use their antennae during orientation?

Think! Then Link...
