A Conversation While Going to School

While riding, I showed to the children two historical photos of life in our town 80 years ago.

I asked the children to compare advantages and disadvantages of life then to modern life for children in Angangueo.

Manuel and Armando said: ¨They had no internet, television, or transportation services as we have today.

Lupita said: ¨I think it was not nice that girls were actually not allowed to attend school,

Marilyin (2nd from left) said: ¨They had no electricity service, dolls were made of cloth, and there were only one or two schools, if any.¨

Emiliano and Jesús said: ¨But their life was much healthier, since they played simple but much more creative games, there was much more agriculture, and they shared much more time together."

Lupita said: ¨I think it was not nice that girls were actually not allowed to attend school, because parents thought it was more important for boys." THE WHOLE GROUP TOTALLY AGREED WITH Emiliano and Jesús!
Monitoring the Monarch's Arrival
No monarchs at El Cerrito yet. See the still ¨empty¨ trees. Lupita raised her hand immediately to fill in the graph while monitoring on Saturday.

Still no change in our graph! We have recorded 'zero monarchs' every time we visit.

¨It is too early for Monarchs to arrive yet,¨ they said and ran away.
