The Overnight Roost: Why so hard to study?
The roosts monarchs form during fall migration have been hard for scientists to study. Roosting butterflies are quiet. They can be very hard to see. Much of what we know about overnight roosts is based on sightings made by citizen scientists. Why do you think it's so challenging to gather information about monarch roosts? Make a list of reasons. (Then see our list!)
