Stranded on the Coast
Sadly, these monarchs were probably blown out over Lake Michigan. They were discovered near Milwaukee on September 4th by Moya Mowbray of Schlitz Audubon Nature Center:

"Unfortunately, about 50 butterflies washed up on shore. We think they were attempting to cross the lake and got caught in last night's storm."
