Helping Monarchs
With the monarch population in decline, people are looking for ways to help. Maryland students participate in citizen science projects and provide habitat at their elementary school. This week they discovered 24 caterpillars in their garden.
"We have 4 different types of milkweed plants on our school grounds. So far we have tagged 4 adults with Monarch Watch tags and sampled 5 adults for the OE parasite."
