Stopping for Food
Monarchs can eat nectar from a wide variety of flowers. As they migrate to Mexico, they travel through diverse landscapes with a wide variety of vegetation. They can stop to feed in places as varied as Canada's northerns praries and Mexico's Chihuahuan Desert. Unlike monarch caterpillars, who are specialists and eat only milkweed, adult monarchs are generalists. What different nectar sources can monarchs stop to eat where you live?
