Still Leaving North
Hundreds of miles from their winter home in Mexico and exceptionally late, monarchs from the far north pressed southward this week. Observers in Canada were reporting monarchs while the main migration was poised to enter Mexico.

"Butterflies feeding on Red Clover and staying out of the wind. The east wind is ideal for moving along the north shore of Lake Erie. All monarchs look fresh today and could leave tomorrow morning."
