Crossing the Border
The Rio Grande forms the border between the United States and Mexico. Monarchs cross into Mexico when they fly across the river. This photo was taken near Eagle Pass, Texas. "The monarchs are uniting three countries when they cross the Rio Grande," wrote Leticia Avendaño who lives on the Mexican side in Ciudad Acuña.
