Perchadero in Mesquite
In Spanish, a roost is called a perchadero. Two biologists in Nuevo Leon reported a perchadero of over 100 monarchs in this mesquite on Sunday night. Mesquite is common throughout northern Mexico where many monarchs are traveling now.
"Nuevo Leon ya esta recibiendo con gusto a la Mariposa Monarca," wrote the biologists. "Nuevo Leon welcomes the monarchs warmly."
