Mobbing Liatris
This city garden in Minneapolis hosted 25 monarchs at once last week. Notice that the butterflies are ignoring the milkweed. They've shifted their focus from reproduction to migration now, and are intent on obtaining nectar.
"What a joy on this Labor Day to be able to view Mother Nature's best. Monarchs were fattening up for the long flight south."
