Following the Shoreline
Many people reported peak migration along the shorelines of the Great Lakes this week. The recovery of a tagged monarch reveals clues about the pace and pathways monarchs travel in the Great Lakes region. The monarch was tagged on the north shore of Lake Ontario and recovered 85 miles down the shore 3 days later. Why do you think monarchs would travel along the shoreline?
