Update Stopping to Rest Journey North

Monarchs stop for the night to rest at overnight roosts. To find a roost site, look in places where large numbers of monarchs are nectaring and then inspect the trees nearby. Roosts usually form on the leeward side of the trees, where the butterflies can find protection from the wind.

"Thousands of monarchs!!! There was a shelter belt about 3/4 mile long and nearly every tree had large groups of monarchs roosting in it." reported Crystal Adolph from Clark, South Dakota on September 2nd.
