Migration
and Monarch Generations
(Teachers:
Map is hotlinked for larger projection on smartboard or screen.)

|
The migration map shows when and where monarchs have arrived so
far this spring. You can assume that female monarchs are laying
eggs in those places, as long as they have milkweed.
|
Name
the states where monarchs have been laying their eggs. |
Predict when eggs
in those states will become adult butterflies. (Assume the monarch
life cycle takes one month.) |
Which
states do you think are the most important for producing the next
generation of monarchs? Explain why. |
