Many Monarchs?
This is how a monarch butterfly colony looks from the air. The trees look
orange because they are covered with monarch butterflies! Scientists have
just finished measuring all of the monarch colonies in Mexico. How do
you suppose they count so many butterflies? You'll find out in this
week's update. But first, how many monarchs do you think are in this
picture? What steps would you take to estimate? Try it!
