Dear
Journey North, On the bulletin board is a quote from my class that reads, "'We will get the word out about monarch butterflies, their beauty, and what they need to survive." This quote, to me, represents a culmination of ideas, resulting from the knowledge the students gained and the conclusions drawn by the students themselves throughout their study. They feel such urgency to make a difference, and they can't wait to pass out the milkweed seeds. One particular student, Micah, took on a leadership role and made a monarch game, monarch questions and answers, and the "butterfly box" that often contains activities for the class-- of course always related to monarch butterflies! You can see a picture of Micah in front of a bulletin board that she made, holding her butterfly box. Mary Kraniak |
