Tattered in Texas
"Seventy monarchs were captured by a researcher over the last three days in our pasture 70 miles from San Antonio. Many, many flying generally south to north. This one was especially faded and tattered. It's one of the remigrants we have been observing the past two weeks," wrote Harlen Aschen from Westoff, TX.
